Our Story

Brandos started because buying technology in Ghana was harder than it needed to be.

Anyone who has shopped for a phone or a laptop here knows the routine. You find the model you want, then spend a week trying to work out whether the seller is genuine, whether the warranty means anything, and whether the price reflects the actual specification or a slightly different variant quietly substituted in.

What we decided to do differently

We sell through authorised channels only. Every device is what the listing says it is — the storage, the region, the model number. If a product is refurbished or open-box, that is stated plainly on the product page and priced accordingly, because there is nothing wrong with a refurbished device and everything wrong with pretending it is new.

Warranty is handled by us, in-house. You do not get a phone number for a regional office in another country. You come to the shop, or you call, or you message us on WhatsApp, and a person who works here deals with it.

Advice before the sale, not just after it

The most common thing we do is talk somebody out of spending more than they need to. If you edit video for a living, we will point you at the machine with the discrete graphics. If you write documents and keep forty browser tabs open, we will tell you that you do not need it, and we will mean it.

That is not generosity. It is that a customer who bought the right thing comes back, and a customer who was upsold does not.

Where we are now

Six years in, we have delivered over eighteen thousand devices across all sixteen regions. The shop on Oxford Street is still where most of it happens — people prefer to hold a laptop before they buy it, and we would rather they did.
